Sharing Our Stories PROJECT

Sharing Our STories

Sharing Our Stories is a project that embodies the community spirit and connection to place felt at La Perouse Public School.

The Sharing Our Stories project is embedded into the curriculum delivery for our students, by our class teachers in all stages. Our appreciation for their creativity is extended to Mrs Giovanna Connolly, Mrs Vicky Unsworth, Mr Solomon, Miss Limbert, Aunty Max and Aunty Maxine, who trail blazed the design and delivery of the 2020 inaugural project year’s delivery for the students.

Principal Lisa Haller, VP Meghan Lindwall and Aunty Vicky Doyle, were able to support the teachers in their curriculum design and in coordinating the extraordinary incursions with our community surrounds, that made the learning experience dynamic and enjoyable for our students.

Collaborations

For this projects creation we partnered with University of Technology Sydney, the UTS Social Impact Grants and the UTS School of Design, UTS Shopfront.

We were so honoured to be in collaboration with Dr Darrall Thompson PhD (Education) MDesign (Research) Adjunct Fellow - School of International Studies and Education - Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences UTS. Our P&C Project Manager was Amy Weidlich P&C Vice President 2020, along with History and Alumni Committee Members 2020 - Dianne Ingrey, Robert Carr. Our P&C Project Manager worked with Principal Lisa Haller and Nic Accaria and Dr Darrall Thompson as they together mapped the possibilities of the project.

Together we are grateful to the efforts of UTS Design Students Ella, Clarice, Jennifer, Yingshi, Cecilia and Evelyn who created digital assets to help our community connection and capture the Sharing Our Stories project scope.
